About Marylee Marre, APRN, FNP-BC

Marylee Marre is a Board-Certified Family Nurse Practitioner with a specialty in functional and integrative medicine. She has been in the medical field for 10 years, spending 7 of those years in the emergency department and critical care settings at renown hospitals across the country including Cedars-Sinai Medical Center (Neurosurgical ICU), UCLA Medical Center (Surgical-Liver Transplant ICU), Northwestern Memorial Hospital (Surgical ICU), Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (PACU) and NYU Langone Orthopedic Hospital (PACU). She is affiliated with New York Center for Integrative Health in New York City.
She feels that her background in western medicine created a very strong foundation. However, she feels the western medicine model has its own set of limitations when it comes to investigating difficult-to-diagnose symptoms and treating chronic conditions. She was discouraged by the endless “band-aid” approach and felt a burning desire to change her approach in order to provide more impactful care for her patients. As a result, she began implementing a root-cause approach to identifying the reasons why her patients were feeling the way they were and treating those causes such as environmental toxicants (mold, plastics, heavy metals, parabens, herbicides, etc.), adrenal dysfunction, gut dysbiosis, micronutrient deficiencies, SIBO, mitochondrial dysfunction, and much more. With this approach she is able to guide the body back to homeostasis, the way it was originally designed to function. Healing takes time but it is well worth the wait! As Marylee always likes to say, “The body is miraculous, given the right tools it can truly heal itself!”
Through her formal training in western medicine and her mentorship and continuing education in functional medicine, she blends the best of both worlds to help her patients formulate a truly comprehensive, customized treatment plan that honors their unique needs. Marylee has been featured in the BIOHACKERS YouTube series with HigherDose Founders Lauren Berlingeri and Katie Kaps, DailyDose Longevity Webinar Series featuring Dr. Kara Fitzgerald (Author of the book Younger You) and DailyDose Founder Tricia Williams, Well+Good article “How To Make Sure You’re Eating Enough Glutathione, the ‘Mother of All Antioxidants’” by Emily Laurence, Prevention Magazine article "The Infrared Sauna Blankets Help Soothe Sore Muscles" by Isabella Cavallo, and Michelle Shapiro’s (Holistic Registered Dietician and Podcast Host of “Quiet the Diet”) Wellness Map. She is a member of the Institute of Functional Medicine (IFM), attends IFM’s annual international conferences and is a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP). Lastly, she has mentored with New York Center for Integrative Health’s renowned Naturopathic Doctor and Director Dr. Robert Kachko.
She is extremely passionate in providing the most individualized, detailed and comprehensive approach that each and every patient deserves!
Marylee recently relocated back to her hometown of South Florida after being away for nearly 14 years and is looking forward to bringing awareness to her local community regarding true functional medicine-the healing of the mind, body and spirit. And she would be honored to be your functional medicine provider.
Outside of Functional Medicine, Marylee loves spending quality time with the people she loves the most, being emerged in nature especially at the beach, and is enthusiastic about practicing what she preaches. She loves her self-care routine which encompasses acupuncture, fire cupping, guided meditation especially on her PEMF mat, and infrared sauna on a regular basis.
